Emergency Tree Service: the problems we hear most
-
“A tree just came down on the house.”
How we help
The short form takes about a minute. It’s tagged emergency the moment you send it and goes to the front of the line.
-
“There are lines down and I don’t know who to call first.”
How we help
Call 911 and your utility for anything touching lines. Then send us photos, and we work on connecting you with a tree crew.
-
“Every company I call is slammed after the storm.”
How we help
Stop dialing around. One urgent request with photos is the fastest way to get your job seen.
Safety first — before anything else
- If anyone is hurt, or a tree is on a power line, call 911.
- Stay at least 35 feet from downed lines and anything touching them — including the tree, fences and standing water.
- Report line damage to your electric utility (FPL or LCEC, depending on your area).
- Don’t climb on the roof or try to cut a tree that’s under tension. Limbs can spring back or roll without warning.
- If water is getting in, a tarp over the damaged area is fine once it’s safe. Leave the tree to the crew.
What happens after you send an urgent request
We can’t promise a specific arrival time. Availability depends on the provider and, after a hurricane, on how many other people need help. Sending your request early, with photos, gives you the best chance of being seen quickly.
- Your request is saved and tagged as an emergency the moment you submit it.
- We review it and work to connect you with an available local tree-service provider as fast as we can.
- The provider contacts you directly to confirm details, timing and the estimate before any work starts.
Photos worth taking now
Photos help the provider bring the right equipment the first time, and your insurance company will likely ask for them too.
- The whole tree and where it’s resting (from a safe distance)
- Any damage to the roof, lanai, pool cage, fence or vehicle
- The base of the tree and roots, if it uprooted
- Anything nearby that affects access: gates, lines, parked cars

A tree fell on my house — who do I call first?
If anyone is hurt or a power line is involved, 911 and your utility come first. Then take photos, contact your insurance company, and send us an urgent request so a tree-service provider can remove the tree safely.
Will my homeowners insurance cover the removal?
Coverage varies by policy. Often a tree that damages a covered structure is handled differently from one that falls in the yard. Your insurer can tell you what applies. Take photos before anything is moved.
Should a leaning tree be treated as urgent?
If the lean is new, the soil is heaving or cracking at the base, or the tree is leaning toward the house or a play area, treat it as urgent and mark it that way on the form. A tree that has always leaned slightly is usually less pressing — see our hazardous tree page.
